World gone crazy!

Pete and I have been working loads over the last couple of weeks with our day jobs and haven't had much time to even think about the blog. One thing we have noticed is how absolutely barmy people get when a new virus hits the UK!
This week saw the first deaths in UK from Coronavirus. What do the amazing British public do? They hit the shops and start panic buying! Now somethings I completely understand sales increasing on. Things like hand wash and sanitiser. These things have been advised by the NHS and WHO to minimise the spread of the virus. We have seen this in the media of people panic buying this stuff and the shelves in the supermarkets being bare.
What we can't understand is why people are panic buying toilet roll. Yes, TOILET ROLL!! Why do people need bulk supplies of toilet roll? Are people misunderstanding the symptoms of Coronavirus? Do they think that if they get it they will have to be confined to the bathroom for two weeks?? It's absolute madness!!

Pete went shopping on Saturday morning to be faced with a supermarket with depleted shelves. This was around 8am. No toilet roll, no pasta, no rice. Why do people go so crazy? It's like at Christmas when people stock up for the festive period because the stores are closing for one day.
All this bulk buying by these weird people then brings up another question. Where the hell do they put it all? I mean, we barely have enough space in our house to store 9 toilet rolls. Where the hell do people put 24 (or more weirdly the hundreds of them that people have been buying?) Where do people store 10kg of rice or pasta? That's harder than trying to stash away 10kg of yarn!!!
My final word on this today is simple...
Don't panic buy
The good news out of all of this is that we are both not ill, have lots of yarn to keep us occupied and thankfully, lots of stuff to watch on TV.
Stay safe all
