Well hello and welcome back!! We know we have been quiet for some weeks now, in fact we have been missing ever since the lockdown went into effect. We have been working loads and not being able to go out anywhere when we are off, we haven't had much to write about!

Well, we’re back now and coming back in full force. We have not stopped crafting, in fact, we have still been going and have so many updates about what we have been up to and what we are going to be up to in the coming months. So here we go…

Our Anniversary

This week in May has so many memories for the both of us and the most amazing memory that we have is our Wedding day. That’s right, this week saw us celebrate our third wedding anniversary and our 13th year together. We celebrated in lockdown style by doing absolutely nothing, spending the day on the sofa both doing crochet. I did sit and go through our wedding photos on my laptop and remembered all the memories of that day. It’s amazing how much a photo can spark the little bits of a day that flies by so fast! We had such a good giggle on our wedding day with our amazing photographers who kept us entertained throughout trying to get us the perfect shots! Here is some of our favourites from our day...

Crafting Updates

If you have been following us on Instagram, you will have seen that back before the lockdown, we went to Unravel Festival where I picked up some amazing yarn from TedKnitsUK. I started turning this into a new shawl using Westknits Mosaic Musings pattern and I am glad to say that I have now finished this and absolutely love it!!

This pattern was amazing to make and a new method of knitting that I have not done before. I still have to block this shawl to flatten it out, but adore how the colour of the red yarn has knitted together creating an amazing marled effect that I wouldn’t have been able to achieve with a standard yarn. I absolutely adore the patterns from WestKnits as they are so easy to follow and are fully written, meaning no charts and are great for people not confident with pattern reading. So much so, my sister is now undertaking a pattern of his following on from the one that I made her at Christmas.

Pete of course has also been keeping busy with his creations and we have just uploaded the next set of mini’s that are now available in our Ravelry store. The mini Winnie the Pooh and friends was actually created last year and he has been tweaking the patterns for months to get it just right and is now finally available for download. He has also been inundated with requests for various different characters and has been busily creating all of these for people. From NHS bears to Peter Rabbit, he has been keeping himself busy and always seems to have a hook in his hand!!

Me on the other hand, aside from finishing my shawl, needed some new things to try so spent a few days a couple of weeks ago looking for some new things to do and have found two new things to keep me occupied!

I found an amazing shop in Bath called Meticulous Ink who create amazing letterpressed stationary and also specialise in Calligraphy supplies. I have always wanted to learn Calligraphy and thought to myself, why not now. So I bought a starter kit with ink, nib holder, nib, practice sheets and a set of clear instructions. Turns out, it’s harder than it looks, much harder in fact. I am persevering and practising every day and it is getting easier and I am loving what I am now able to create with it!!

The second thing I found was a CAL by Jane Crowfoot. It is an amazing blanket called Fruit Garden. Now this is not a project that I would normally do but following on from my Mum completing one last year, I am absolutely fascinated by the way these are created and made up!! I am going to be doing separate posts over the next few months updating on my progress.

For now, that is all from us but please keep your eyes peeled as I am going to be doing the first post on the CAL in the next couple of days.

Take Care
